Camelback Mountain Hiking
Echo Canyon- Only a short walk from Camelback Canyon Estates, discover this 2.5-mile out-and-back trail near Scottsdale, Arizona. Generally considered a challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are October through April. You’ll need to leave the pups at home — dogs aren’t allowed on this trail.
Cholla Trailhead– On the east side of Camelback Mountain, Cholla gains about 1350 feet over 1.47 miles and may not be for you if you’re afraid of heights… and look out for the loose gravel! The round-trip hike will take approximately 2-3 hours but really depends on your fitness level and how many times you stop to take pictures.
Butterfly Wonderland– Immerse yourself in the world of butterflies and other rainforest animals. Learn about Monarch butterfly migration in a captivating 3D movie, observe live chrysalides as they emerge naturally into beautiful butterflies, spend ample time strolling through the conservatory with the butterflies, get up close to unique reptiles that inhabit rainforests across the world, and even indulge in edible insects!

Desert Botanical Garden– Discover desert plants nestled amid the red rocks of the Papago Buttes. Visitors can stroll through five thematic trails to explore the fascinating beauty of the Sonoran Desert, from towering cacti and alluring succulents to brilliant wildflowers and lush trees.
Odysea Aquarium Scottsdale– OdySea Aquarium is the largest Aquarium in Arizona with over 6,000 animals. This multi-level, state-of-the-art facility holds more than 2 million gallons of water and offers an educational, interactive and entertaining experience for guests of all ages by combining theme-park style amusement with highly engaging presentations of aquatic life.
Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt– The Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt is an oasis of parks, lakes, paths and golf courses traversing 11 miles through the heart of Scottsdale. The greenbelt features more than 24 grade-separated crossings, meaning users can avoid major cross traffic. This world-renowned flood control project is rated among the top urban “green spaces” in Arizona.
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park– Take a ride on the Paradise & Pacific Railroad and the 1950-vintage Allan Herschell carousel. Visit a variety of shops and museums, play on our one-of-a-kind playground or our play areas, or just relax in the grass under a tree in Scottsdale’s most beautiful park.
Salt River Fields at Talking Stick– Salt River Fields at Talking Stick is a stadium complex located in the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community near Scottsdale, Arizona, at the former site of the Indian Bend Country Club. It serves as the Major League Baseball spring-training facility for both the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies, replacing Tucson Electric Park for the Diamondbacks and Hi Corbett Field for the Rockies.
Talking Stick Resort and Casino– Talking Stick Resort is a luxury hotel and casino located on the Salt-River Pima-Maricopa Indian Reservation near Scottsdale, Arizona. The hotel tower has 15 stories and stands over 200 feet tall. Talking Stick Resort is independently owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC). The 240,000 square foot property includes a casino, 496 guest rooms, 21 meeting rooms, six entertainment lounges and five restaurants. It also contains a Grand Ballroom, a spa, a fitness center and a Showroom that seats 650.
